Music Ministry of First Baptist Church Colquitt

God has provided us the sound of music to worship, honor, and glorify His wonderful name. The music ministry of First Baptist Church Colquitt is committed to exalting the Savior, edifying the saints, and evangelizing the sinner in all of the music selected and presented each week. Our method is music, our message is Jesus, and our reason is eternity. Our prayer is for everyone to be challenged and committed to a deeper walk with the Lord Jesus Christ not only through music but other ministries in our church.

The music ministry offers many opportunities for involvement to fulfill the use of musical gifts. It provides a means to offer to God and His people something of value that is greater than what we could do ourselves. It also provides a fellowship where you can be encouraged and strengthened in the Lord.

The Celebration Choir is the foundation of our worship and praise and contributes in a great way for worship. The choir sings each Sunday morning and for special presentations such a Christmas, Easter, and Patriotic worship services. The music style includes hymns, southern gospel, and contemporary music to present the truth of the Gospel to the different age groups and different musical blends in the church. Youth are invited to sing with us.

Worship Leaders assist in leading our congregational worship. They must have the ability to sight read and learn music by ear and be comfortable standing before a congregation. They must have a heart for worship and a passion to lead other people to worship.

Instrumentalists who play different musical instruments are encouraged to participate. They must demonstrate the ability to play different musical styles used in our worship services and must be faithful to provide consistency to the music program.

Visual media is used to enhance our worship experience.

Soloists and Groups sing during our worship services. These individuals understand that the greatest measure of their gift is not found in their voice alone but in the person behind that voice that testifies to God's forgiveness and grace. These individuals paint a picture every time they sing of what God has done and is going to do in their lives.
