History of Building
· Former home of Annie Belle and Roy Bush
· Site inherited by Minnie "Ma" Harrell, who gave it to her daughter, Annie Bell Harrell, who married Roy Bush.
· Home constructed in 1932
· Pine logs came from the Bush farm near the Griggs community of west Miller County.
· Large stones were unearthed during road construction in Griggs.
· Smaller stones came from heating larger ones until they burst.
· John Carpenter, stone mason, built the living room fire place using smaller stones.
· John Henry "Dad" Harrell (Mrs. Bush's father) put the mortar between the logs and placed much smaller stones there as well.
· Dad also made the front door and the wooden door hinges of the upstairs closet doors.
· Originally, the upstairs was one large room. It was partitioned in the early 1940's. Ma Harrell lived upstairs. A bathroom was added in the 1950's.
· Purchased by First Baptist Church in August, 2007.
· Renovated to be used for Bible Study, wedding showers, baby showers, luncheons, planning meetings, weddings, receptions, pastoral conferences, church functions, etc.
· Dedicated to God on January 31, 2010, at 2 pm with Open House following.
